Access Policy

How Redemption Works
Redeeming your access code grants you read-only access to the companion GitHub repository for your SKU. The process has three steps:
Find your code
Your 20-character alphanumeric code is printed on the inner back cover of the physical book, or delivered by email for direct digital purchases. It looks like: ABCD-EFGH-IJKL-MNOP-QR
Go to the redemption site
Visit redeem.thebackendofluck.com. Enter your code and the GitHub username you want to bind it to. The Cloudflare Turnstile challenge verifies you are human. Then click Redeem.
Accept the GitHub invitation
Within seconds, GitHub sends a collaborator invitation to the account you specified. Open github.com/notifications and accept the invite. You will then have read access to the private repository.
What the Code Is
- A 20-character, one-time-use token unique to your purchase
- Permanently bound to a single GitHub account on first use
- Non-transferable: it may not be sold, gifted, or shared
- The physical code is not a bearer instrument — it is tied to the purchase identity in our records
What the Code Is NOT
- Not a password or login credential
- Not a license to build commercial products (see below)
- Not transferable to a different GitHub account after redemption (a reset request is required)
- Not reusable: once redeemed, the code is spent
What Access Grants
- Read-only access to the private companion GitHub repository (or repositories, for bundle SKUs)
- Ability to clone, read, and reference the repository content for personal educational study
- Access persists for as long as the repository exists and your code has not been revoked
What Access Does NOT Grant
Simulação educacional / Educational simulation only. This is not a commercial software license.
- No right to build, operate, or deploy products based on repository content without a separate written commercial license
- No right to resell, sublicense, or redistribute repository content
- No write access or ability to open issues/pull requests on the repository
- No access to repositories for SKUs you did not purchase
- No SLA or uptime guarantee for repository availability
Revocation
Access is revoked automatically (via webhook, within 5 minutes) when:
- A refund is processed by the payment gateway
- A chargeback or payment dispute is filed
- Resale or unauthorized transfer of the code is detected
- Policy violations are confirmed (scraping, credential sharing, bulk export)
- Abusive behavior toward support staff
Revocation is permanent unless explicitly reversed by us after a successful appeal. To appeal, email support@backendofluck.com with your purchase reference and a brief explanation.
GitHub Account Reset
If you need to re-bind your code to a different GitHub account (e.g., username change, lost account), you may request a reset:
- Email support@backendofluck.com with subject "Access Reset Request"
- Include your original purchase reference (order number or receipt email)
- Specify the old GitHub username (if known) and the new GitHub username
We allow up to 3 resets per buyer. Requests beyond that limit require manual review and may be declined at our discretion. Resets are not instant — allow up to 2 business days.
